Originally formed as a capstone group for CDM DePaul's game development program, Lightray Games was created in order to fully develop and release their shmup game, Lord of Djinn (Nazradjinn).
In Lord of Djinn, Lightray Games strives to develop a unique competitive experience by combining indirect combat between the players with direct combat with the environment. In doing so this game plans to give players a fresh and exhilarating shoot'em up entertainment that combines elements of titles such as Ikaruga, Twinkle Star Sprites, and Resogun.
